Practical Pro Katana - Differentially Tempered High Carbon Blade
The Hanwei Practical Pro Katana features an extended tsuka and a thicker and longer blade to withstand the rigors of regular cutting practice. The hand-forged blade is constructed from high-carbon steel and is differentially clay tempered using traditional forging methods.
The Practical Pro katana has a finer blade polish and is sharper than other swords in the Hanwei Practical series.
The tsuka is wrapped with synthetic black leather for durability and it's gripping characteristics and is double-pegged for safety. This katana can be completely disassembled for maintenance.
The wooden saya is done in a deep black lacquer with a black Japanese cotton sageo. The stout fittings are antiqued black iron.
This hand forged katana features a round Kuruma tsuba which represents the "Wheel of Dharma," symbolizing the Buddhist concept of the Noble Eightfold Path. For those seeking a high quality katana with a longer blade that can stand the rigors of heavy cutting, this Practical Pro makes a terrific choice.
