Detailed Description
The "Ranko" katana
is a varient of the affordable live blade (Ichi Maru).
It is constructed of a through hardened 1045
carbon monosteel with an improved blade geometry as well
a cleaner, more attractive fitting and steel tsuba as
well as two mekugi. This hand forged, hand sharpened,
and hand polished blade is unbeatable in value.
The 1045 carbon steel is our most affordable
line of live katanas. It is a great light cutter for dojos
and an excellent backyard cutter for everything from pool
noodles to melons, to water bottles on regular basis day
after day. The 1045 Carbon steel is slightly softer than
our 9260 and 1060 live blades, but still able to handle
occassional tatami omote.
The most amazing thing
about this line of swords is the price. For those
