Cheness Tenchi Wakizashi
(WITHOUT Bo-Hi) Japanese Samurai Sword made with 9260
Silicon Alloy Spring Steel :
Detailed Description
The "Tenchi"
wakizashi is a varient of the very affordable (Ichi Maru).
This is a 9260 wakizashi made to provide a matching
set of blades for our 9260 Silicon Alloy Spring Steel
"Tenchi" Katana. Material specs are the same
as our latest Tenchi katanas.
The 9260 is a silicon alloy which has a significantly
increased fatigue resistance compared to standard 1060
carbon steel. The addition of 2% silicon changes the bahavior
of the steel drastically for use in a sword.
This spring steel is most commonly seen in application
on fencing foils where it needs to withstand a high degree
of bend and still be able to return to center.
This is an excellent material
for wakizashis. It is highly durable in most dojo
applications and extremely resistant to bending and failures.
The use of 0.6% carbon allows this blade to be sturdy
enough for tatami omote yet forgiving enough to resist
dangerous chipping on rigid targets.
The "Tenchi" (Heaven and Earth) wakizashi
uses our most durable material for its blade construction.
The blade body is a 9260 silicon alloy carbon spring steel.
It is handsomely finished
with a cast brass Musashi Double Ring tsuba that
is thicker than the standard steel tsubas with an antiqued
finish. This sword has a heftier and more antiqued look
and feel than other steel fitted blades.
You
must be 18 years or older to purchase this japanese swords.
